FAQ

Q. How to choose the location for your session?

A. The style of the location you chose is a very personal decision that only you can decide what right for you. Whether you want a country look, downtown or beach setting, we’ll discuss all your concerns and wants as well as personal style of your home and I’ll match a location suitable for you. I have many locations in Sarasota that I love to use because they work for all of my clients. Characteristics I look for in my locations: safe, photograph great, semi-private, easily accessible, FREE! Now there are some premium locations that charge a photography fee of $250 like the Ringling Museum, Selby Gardens, and city-owned parking garages.

Q. what time of day do you suggest for outdoor portraits?

A. All my outdoor portraits are done during golden hour which is reflected in my portfolio so these are the times I shoot to be consistent with my work. If you’re an early riser, we start at sunrise however I’m usually unavailable in the mornings within 2- 3 weeks notice. Most of my clients prefer the sunset hour. Your session appointment time will be set for 45 min before sunset or 10 mins after sunrise.

Q. What do we wear?

A. This may be the most stressful part and if so, this will be a breeze. I have compiled a few Pinterest boards to help guide you to getting everyone ready for their portraits. I won’t be doing the actual shopping for you but I guarantee you’ll be able to put something together within a day. Just look for things that area similar styles to the one’s on the boards. Here’s a few pointers: Dress to impress but don’t wear anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or insecure. Choose clothes that fit you and flatter you. Don’t want to risk reliving a bad hair day? A hair and makeup artist can really add confidence. I have also created a hair and makeup style guide on Pinterest. See something you like? Book a HMU, simply share the board with them to make consultation a breeze.

Q. I’m interested in the Fresh 48. How does that work?

A.  Fresh 48 sessions are a documentary-style or lifestyle portrait session. Here’s how it works..

When you inquire, I’ll need some basic information about where you plan to delver and your due date. Once you reach within 5 weeks of your due date, I’ll basically be on-call which means I won’t be taking any vacations or booking out of state. You’ll keep me updated with any new information. Once your baby is born and you’re in the mother-baby suite, you’ll give me a call or text to notify me of the birth and supply me with with baby’s information (Name, Weight, Height, and D.O.B.). I’ll also need your room number and security code to gain access to your room. The following day, I’ll arrive to photograph your baby. Whomever is in the room will be a part of the session. I’ll post a sneak peek the following day for your baby’s birth announcements on my facebook page.

Q. What if it rains?

A.  To get the most accurate forecast as possible, I check the weather the day before our session. This is also the time I confirm our appointment and go over any details left to cover. If weather shows that it will be raining at the time of our session, I’ll reschedule your portraits at my earliest available time. I always have a backup date in case of inclement weather.

Q. What is included in your editing process?

A. My editing process is culling, color correcting, image straightening, removing items in the background at my discretion, removing acne, cuts, scraps, bruises, and other things that are temporary. Retouching (body modifications, age- altering) is not something I voluntarily perform within my “edited” work. If you request additional editing or retouching, you’ll need to provide me with a composed list of what you want done. Retouching fee per image is $25.
